Morara Kebaso Breaks Silence With Public Apology After Explosive Family Drama
Morara Kebaso has seemingly chosen peace over another round of online confrontation.
The activist and politician has issued a public apology after weeks of intense drama surrounding his personal life and his fallout with his first wife, Mercy Makini.
In a Facebook post shared on Sunday, September 13, Kebaso admitted that, as a public figure, he had a responsibility to take a step back and reflect.
He said he had evidence he could have used to defend himself and prolong the online battle.
But he chose not to.
Kebaso instead said he would take responsibility and de-escalate the situation, stressing that a leader should never be too proud to apologise.
The apology comes after a storm of public exchanges involving his first wife, Mercy Makini.
The controversy erupted earlier this month after Kebaso publicly spoke about having a second wife.
Mercy later rejected the polygamous arrangement and publicly addressed their separation, making allegations concerning their marriage.
Kebaso has previously disputed those claims and pointed to financial support and construction work he said he had undertaken for Mercy’s family.
Now, his latest message appears to signal a change in tone.
Rather than releasing more evidence or continuing the public back-and-forth, Kebaso has called for everyone involved to move forward.
And just like that, the Morara Kebaso family drama has taken another turn.
