The Kenya Films and Classification Board’s acting CEO, Christopher Wambua, has urged creatives to utilize Nairobi Cinema (Nairobi Film Center) to showcase their work.

He spoke during the graduation ceremony of over 2800 young women who completed the KFCB digital employability programme, and highlighted the board’s efforts to create a supportive environment for creatives to monetize their content.

The facility can be hired at a small fee for film screenings and stage performances. He said the board is reviewing license fees to encourage more young people to enter the creative economy and is working on a self-regulatory framework to ease the process of doing business in the sector. Wambua encouraged the graduands to create content that promotes the nation and culture, without exposing children to adult experiences.
