Barbie Review
“Barbie,” directed and co-written by Greta Gerwig, is a visually dazzling and technically impressive achievement. The film cleverly recreates Barbie’s history while bringing the iconic figures to life with infectious energy.
It’s both hysterically funny and thought-provoking, addressing Barbie’s impact on body image and celebrating her role as a feminist icon. Margot Robbie’s performance as Barbie is outstanding, and Ryan Gosling shines as Ken.
The ensemble cast, including Kate McKinnon and Issa Rae, delivers memorable performances. While the film’s ambition is commendable, it occasionally suffers from uneven pacing when exploring serious themes. Overall, “Barbie” is an entertaining and insightful summer blockbuster.
Available in theaters on July 21st.
